What exactly is Key Card Advertising? It is a promotional program that uses hotel room keys as “Mini Billboards” for advertising area restaurants, attractions and retail outlets, or promoting events.

A relatively new concept in advertising and marketing, custom ads for restaurants etc. are printed on room keys that are used by hotel guests. Cards can also advertise functions and conferences, being conducted at the hotel, and may be provided by the hotel as an incentive to the sponsoring organization, or purchased by the association or company holding the meeting.

Unlike magazines, newspapers, chamber of commerce brochures and radio spots, Key Card Advertising actively targets the customer. Awareness is high, since it is the only ad on the card. Advertisers can be rotated, with a different ad on the keys each month.
